New for 2026 -The Loft

stay with us

A welcoming hideaway with beautiful views and a touch of farmyard charm — The Loft at Field House is a wonderful place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the countryside.

Perched above Field House Coffee Barn with sweeping views across East Yorkshire and the Wolds, The Loft is a cosy escape for couples seeking a taste of rural life. Step out onto the balcony and take in the ever-changing landscape — from glorious sunrises to star-studded night skies. Nearby, you can enjoy the gentle presence of a Shetland pony, a donkey, and cattle grazing in the fields, and you are welcome to collect fresh eggs from the farm hens.

Designed for two guests, the loft features a comfortable double bed tucked snugly beneath the eaves, a modern en-suite shower room, and a compact kitchenette equipped with a microwave, sink, fridge, kettle, and toaster.

Surrounded by open countryside, guests can enjoy a multitude of circular walks directly from The Loft, making it an ideal base for walkers and nature lovers.

The setting offers beautiful scenery and a gentle touch of farmyard magic, creating the perfect place to unwind, slow down, and soak up the East Yorkshire countryside.

There is also a small campsite on site, offering the option for friends or family to stay nearby while you enjoy the comfort and seclusion of The Loft.

Please note, as a charming loft conversion, the space is accessed via a spiral staircase, has low beams and sloping ceilings, particularly around the bed area. These features add to the character of the loft but may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who prefer full head height throughout.

As The Loft is situated above the Field House Coffee Barn, guests may occasionally see or hear customers enjoying the outdoor seating area below during café opening hours. Outside of these times, the setting usually wonderfully peaceful. If you are seeking complete tranquillity during your stay, we’re always happy to confirm opening hours or advise whether any private events are scheduled in advance.

The Coffee Barn Aug 2023

After 2 years of planning and 9 months building we are delighted to finally have the coffee shop up and running.  Currently it is a limited menu as we learn the ropes so please bear with us!  The coffee barn is following the same ethos as the campsite as we strive to make it as environmentally friendly as possible and sourcing local products yet still embracing our agricultural roots.

We plan to be open daily from 9am until 2pm but this may be extended if required.

Like the rest of the site, the coffee shop welcomes dogs on leads.

With cycle racks inside the coffee shop, the cyclists amongst you can come straight in with your bike and there’s even a repair station should you need it.

It’s a perfect base for walkers thanks to the permissive path which leads directly onto the vast network of public footpaths and bridleways across this stunning part of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Groups are welcome but’s its really helpful to send us a quick message when to expect you 07974 37918.

We look forward to welcoming you!

“Drumming Up”

On Saturday 30 July we welcomed The Wold Rangers who hosted their first Drumming Up event with us. After an informative 9 mile walk from Driffield, the participants were welcomed to Field House by Croom Mabel, Horsehair Jack and Ginger Joe (courtesy of http://www.rusticus.co.uk/) who told some wonderful tales from their antics over the years across the Yorkshire Wolds. The musicians then played and sang throughout the evening with a range of well known songs sparking off a good old campfire singalong whilst enjoying a delicious homemade stew. Some guests camped overnight before being served a hearty breakfast to set them in good stead for the return walk, whilst others travelled home in the minibus back to Driffield.
